To help students make informed career choices by providing opportunities to explore fields as diverse as: hospitality and tourism management, restaurant marketing and management, department and specialty retail marketing and management, fashion merchandising, business-to-business marketing, advertising, salesmanship, international business, financial services, entrepreneurship, internet marketing, culinary arts, criminal justice, and other marketing and business-oriented occupations.
- To foster high ethical standards in business by encouraging business activity that demonstrates civic, social, and moral responsibility.
- To prepare business projects including advertising campaigns, sales promotion plans, plans to start a new business, etc.
- To give presentations to groups of students and members of the business community.
- To participate in state and international competitive events and leadership activities.
- To conduct marketing research for area businesses as both an educational activity and as a fundraiser.
- To perform various fundraising activities for the organization and for charitable organizations.
- To place emphasis on social functions to motivate other students to join the organization, participate, and make life-long friends.
- To conduct meetings, elect officers, form committees, and manage the organization.
- To make critically important business contacts in the business community.
- To role-play to prepare for employment interviews, develop the ability to prepare good resumes, and learn how to find career opportunities.
- To earn recognition for accomplishments from members of the business community at the local, state, and international levels.
- To allow students the chance to travel both across the state and internationally.
